About the event

In this Sunday afternoon mini-retreat, we will turn our attention inwards. Experience the nourishment and wellbeing that comes from accepting all of your sensations, thoughts and emotions. A blend of mindfulness meditation and gentle, mindful movement will help to ground you in your moment-to-moment experience and open your heart.

We will start off with introductions and intentions and a short introductory discussion about self-care. From there we will go into noble silence and a short grounding meditation and deep welcome. A qi-gong informed mindful movement session will help us to connect to the 4 elements and then we will sit together for a mindfulness meditation. 

We will continue the silence in our break, where we will do an eating and drinking meditation. Then we will enjoy a gentle stretching session, relaxing body scan meditation and end with some sharing and listening.

About the Facilitator: Mimi Cooper

Mimi Cooper has been meditating for many years and completed her Meditation Teacher’s Training at the Veda Centre in 2018. In 2023, she earned a two-year Mindfulness Teachers Training Certification from Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, certified by The Awareness Training Institute and The Greater Good Science Centre at UC Berkeley. Mimi has taught in various environments, from corporate settings to private courses and retreats. She holds an Honours degree in Psychology and is currently studying to become a registered counsellor, with a keen interest in therapeutic approaches based on mindfulness and compassion.
